DO BEAUTY'S EMBERS DIE?

'Tis I, do beauty's embers die?
Old dogs and I too old for roving
A young man's passions no longer apply
Soon too lame to rove, too cold for loving

Youth exchanged for wisdom and knowledge
An old book gathered near the fire.....
Yellowed pages from aged damage
Yet readable heart's inspire.

Quietly remembering as the Ember's Die
A life lived well with enriched solitude
Peace within one's self, eyes are dry.
Inner Beauty's Embers rescued.

This is touching, ConSue. I've always thought, though, that people become even more beautiful as they age. There is a beauty to youth, yes - but there is, too, beauty to be found in the mature. I've always found wisdom, maturity, experience, and confidence to be incredibly appealing. It's a quieter sort of beauty that comes with age, perhaps --- oh, but it is most certainly beautiful!

Mom ConSue~
A most touching write beautifully penned.
Beauty's embers don't die dearest Mom they just age beautifully. I think that certain beauty comes with age. Wisdom, knowledge, confidence and so on...Beauty from the heart shines radiantly on ones face regardless of their age. Well done dearest Mom. A most touching and enjoyable write.

When I read the title, I thought - the superficial ones maybe. Those that are worth saving - God, apparantly does save.
It's a beautiful poem.
