The blood red moon
Heralding the fact
She will be coming soon

A banshee wails on
Mountain ridge
In the castle the king
Draws up his bridge

No one is safe
From her fiery breath
The night wind is still
Someone will meet death

A flapping of wings
Deafening in thunder
Leaving all to quake
And hearts to shudder

Passing over the village
She lights the bonfire
Smiling she decides
To follow hearts desire

For tonight she breeds
With the Dragon from east
And then will return
Next year for her annual feast

A sigh of relief
As she flies away
But when she returns
Her children will also find prey
