Array ( [sid] => 122999 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => When I Awake [time] => 2006-07-10 15:56:27 [hometext] => It's about a love that would have lasted, had other people not had their say, enjoy it!!! [bodytext] => I look through the frosted window glass,
Hoping that some way, love might pass,
Crazy it seems, to want beauty to die,
But how can I go on, living this lie?

Day after day, smile painted on,
An empty shell from which all hope has gone,
Watching love walk away, out of that door,
To leave my heart breaking, right there on that floor,
And carrying on, with the daily grind,
Others unaware of what they would find
In this heart of mine,
Battered, broken and bruised by time,

There’s nothing it seems, except pictures of you,
Colours swirling, changing hue,
Reminding me of better days,
When things were clearer, in so many ways,
When the answers were there, in your crystal eyes
Before time pulled us apart, and we said our goodbyes,
Even then we knew we could never let go,
Why we did is a mystery, it left me so low,

Our meeting again brought my soul to life,
Your love for another stuck in sharp, like a knife,
How could you desert the wonder we shared,
Abandon me, pretend that you cared,

How easily the fragile heart breaks,
Like the dream shattered when the dreamer awakes,
Please, don’t let me open my eyes,
To find you gone, before the sun can rise,
Before the strars have even left this sky,
Not again, not tonight, no more tears to cry,

Awake with me and let us begin,
To live a life free from sin,
Find our joy in each moment we share,
When I awake, let me find you there. [comments] => 5 [counter] => 224 [topic] => 2 [informant] => Ruby2sdy [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )

A very nice poem and one filled with sincereity not to mention it also says alot about the differenc between real love and implied love, real love survives all adversities, but of course the participants must also be relsilant 2 outside scrutiny by those who would wish harm 2 any relationship that they themselves are deprived the chance for. a strong and deeply convincint write. nice going.

Your story of heartbreak is very well depicted in this poem. I can totally relate to this as I have been in the same predicament. It was nice to read this and be reminded of what I have went through and overcame. Great piece. Take care, Kimberly
