Look over there’s a dog in the park.
Romping and wagging and jumping around
seems so excited with the stick that he’s found

The kitty cat meows and likes to drink milk,
And petting her fur is like touching silk
The cat sleeps all day curled up in a ball
And she lands on her feet when ever she falls

Cows eat green grass and cows love to moo
Cows live on farms and give us milk too
They don’t do much except standing and staring,
Looking at people and not even caring

Monkeys have long tails and swing through the trees
The eat their bananas and pick their friends fleas
They can hang from a branch by one foot upside down
And scratch at their armpits and act like a clown.

Birdies have feathers, and birdies have beaks
Chirps, coos and caws are the way that they speak.
They build nests in the trees where their chicks squeak and cry
And the best thing about them‘s the way that they fly!!!

There are so many animals I’d like to be
I wonder if any would like to be me??

I love this poem!!

It's so carefree, and light, and the reader can't help but get an instant smile when reading this! You kept a consistent rhyme, and flow, and filled our minds with wonderful, pleasing imagery of all these animals that bring us so much joy everyday. I thoroughly enjoyed this, and I think it's a great poem for a children's book, but as an adult, I fully enjoyed reading this too!!
