It's hard to consider the simple things quite possibly
These days, nothing comes far too easily
With the whole world sitting, waiting in front of me

Crawling across these vacant thoughts
No time to think or consider the supposed loss
Hours spent spinning, dwelling on the things I do and what it may cost
Tripping and falling all over these wonderful thoughts

It's bittersweet to think I'm in over my head
Sinking through a pool of tropical water, smiling 'cause my feet feel like lead
I'm probably not fooling anyone but I'm far from dead
Smiling for all the reasons not yet living in my head

Nevertheless I'm hoping for a vacation from this descent
Wishing for all the money I knew I should have never spent
Thinking about all the things I said but never meant
I wish you were with me as company through my descent

Such an understatement, that I'm actually alone
I'd love to call the things I know for sure and down to the bone
Especially with all the things happening but I saw you and your face was stone
Rigid possibilties, coming from way up ahead of me as I sit alone

It's crazy for me to think that since these things are triggered by no one else
It's all in wonder as these thoughts fall from the shelf
I should smile for your sympathy, that which I give to myself
I'm like a toy with no batteries, sitting, watching, waiting--for no one else [comments] => 1 [counter] => 168 [topic] => 21 [informant] => Exodus [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

I read all your poems, they are amazing and unique, some with a surreal quality to them, but this one has an sadness to it, I love this one ,
