Rest In Peace my dear friend Peter Landells. He was only 33 years old. I will miss him alot. [bodytext] => Coldness crept in to blanket the sky
While the stars lit up the dark night
I sat down comfortably beside you
Watching the new moon come into sight

I happened to glance towards you
Noticing that tears filled your eyes
You grasped my hands so tightly
Whispering to me a soft good-bye

Gently placing my arms around you
I prayed to God to ease your pain
For the past few months I watched
Your efforts to get better go in vain

We huddled up on the porch swing
That’s how you had wanted it to be
The wind it blew a few gusty knots
I felt its iciness cut right through me

We feel asleep after talking for so long
I awoke to the shining suns warm light
Not knowing you took your last breath
And passed away quietly into the night…

I'm so sorry I've made a spelling error. In the first line of the last stanza it should read Fell instead of Feel. My apologies.

No last goodbye,
You will never part,
For this man will remain,
Inside your heart.

Understand this fully, It is a beautiful poem, I know the sadness, I have lived it too. God bless. Sue x

Very sad and I'm sorry for the loss.
I lost a dear friend last Summer but he was in his seventies but none the less I know the deep feelings of loss even tho we know they are great and suffer no more.
A very sweet-n-dear tribute.
luv, huggs, prayers,
emy

painfully sad to read, the heartbreak is more than
words could ever describe i'm sure. As always before
your work is among the favourite of mine to read, with its weight and honesty i think your spirit will endure.

take care

My gosh Sue, this is a beautiful and loving tribute. You wrote this with such warmth and respect; he must've been a dear friend, as I'm sure you were to him too. Great job expressing yourself here; thanks for posting this.
