When our
Boys came back,
It seems to me,
They caught a lot of flack.

When they got home,
They weren't themselves.
And most people just shoved
Them back on separate shelves.

People didn't know
Who these men were.
Some used to be
Like a cuddly ball of fur.

But now, they were more
Like a keg of nails.
Many of them were
Sickly and pale.

They didn't
Act the same;
And no one took the time
To ask "Who's to blame?"

To most of these guys,
They'd seen better days.
Now they feel like
The M. I. A.'s.

They know
They'll never be
What their families
used to see.

They know the
True fact!
They'll never be able
To bring themselves back.

Reality has
This to say;
They will always
Be "M. I. A. 's."

Loved how this was expressed.
Yes we need to appreciate what they do and are going through over there protecting us.

So sad, yet so true. You have expressed this so openly and so well. People forget what these soldiers have done to protect us.
May God bring back the rest of our soldiers to their families and loved ones.
Happy 4th of July~
warm hugs,
sue m

I hate war and I dont think its right the way soldiers are treated, I think poems like yours are so good and remind us of what they go through. xxx
