tired of the scares, bruises, deeply imbedded-
tired of battling these flames
tired of the burning smoke on my face-
for this is the day
from it all I will walk away
so hard to say goodbye to these destroying flames
though so much of my life’s foundation and frames,
have been burned away
for the life I’ve known, I cannot save
so putting down my shovel and hose
im going to let it all go-
the memories and laughter’s
sorrows, tears, and shelter
saying goodbye to what was once safe and secure
letting go of all those long lived years
I will let the fire burn it all down
and then I will rebuild a new life now
there’s no need to fight the ashes away
when they are meant to burn in flames
I might as well let it all fade away
and finally wash the black residue off my face
good bye dear disaster,
I cant try to stop you any longer
for your an out of control burning fire
and I am going to walk away from here
build a new life of healing
and leave behind me this fire burning
some things are not worth the fight
if they are going to end up burning me inside
and in truth, scaring me for life
so its time to walk away, say goodbye
and take upon me a new life
sometimes when flames are left alone,
they will have no more life to feed on
and that, becoming the most courageous fight
with the embracing of a new life-
