I start to like a guy
He doesn't feel the same

But still pretend to like me

I hate that more then anything
More then jealousy

I hate liars
And I'm never good enough

I swear on my life
The next guy to do the very same thing
God help him
I won't take it
Not even once more

All the nice things
They might've said
Weren't meant for me
They were meant for her
Because I'm not good enough

Maybe it sounds pathetic
I couldn't care less
Because it's truly unfair
They don't feel any pain when we break-up
But I do

It makes me feel
Like I'm not good enough
Not pretty enough
Not who they want
Although they lead me to believe...

Never good enough
I'll just be the second choice
Girl of the after-thought
Never the girl
In your dreams

Everytime
I start to like a guy

Midnight_writer,
That was a very good, honest poem. I'd hate to be the one to tell you this, but if this is how you truly feel... maybe your doing something wrong... like letting them in too soon. It's always best to leave curiosity in the picture. I don't even know you, but I do know one thing and that is that you are good enough, everyone is, but the fact of the matter is that some poeple may not be the way we want them to be. I feel your pain, I've been there before.!. If you ever want to talk, just look me up. I hope you keep writing and stop looking for love. Always remember Love will always meet Love and resistance will always meet resistance!

This hits me so hard because this is exactly how I feel right now. Thank you for the honesty in this write. I wish I could tell you that theres someone out there thats just right for you but I'm still searching and till I find him I wont be fully convinced. Cheers girl, good write.

Your honesty is touching. I have been there myself and didn't find my love until I was older. Granted, I'm not so sure I felt just the same way but I had searched and searched.

I think for me I had the upper hand. Even before my dating years I learned the hard way how guys can be with us. I had several brothers and boy the things they taught me just from watching and listening to them. So when I was old enough to date I guarded my heart well and didn't really give them the chance to hurt me this way. The down side to that is that it gets harder and harder to open up when you finally do find someone who truly cares and wants to love you.

Do not think that you are not good enough. You already have a special gift in you and that is your writing. Don’t let go of that and be true to yourself.
