Array ( [sid] => 122504 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Quiet Man [time] => 2006-06-29 12:42:22 [hometext] => This poem is dedicated to a poet , who never thinks his words are good enough. Lillyjane and I know him well, he is not on this site as far as I know. Well anyway , This is for you Ricky. Sue x [bodytext] =>

This man is hidden behind a mask,
His feelings locked inside,
A truly remarkable person he is,
And someone to whom I confide,

A writer of great words he is,
But someone who is shy to admit,
That the lines he writes are extraordinary,
Be they serious or full of wit,

He has an alter ego this man,
Can seem loud ,brash and bold,
But lurking beneath this joker,
Is a heart ,I think of pure gold,

His inner feelings shine out,
When writing of things so real,
He seems to understand their plight,
Of how he himself would feel,

He thinks he is not worth the praise,
Is it a thought he holds inside,
That he would never be good at anything,
Or did someone hurt his pride,

Well Listen friend, if I can call you that,
You have come so very far,
With these words I wrote today,
Do you know who you are?

Sue, this is a very sweet and caring tribute. I'm sure he
would appreciate this very much.

I've found many a poet is humble about their own work.
I hope it never hinders his desire to keep writing though.

Great post!

Maybe you can convince him to join us here at YPDC. You've convinced me with this wonderful dedication that I'm sure his poems would be worth sharing with us. It's something we can all look forward to.

Take care and a very very nice dedication.

Tim
