As a child
I knew it all
The world was big
But I was tall

And I could do
Almost anything
I had the most
Amazing dreams

All my life
I have been strong
Always sure that
I belonged

At any time
Right where I was
And life was good
The world was just

[But]
Now I know
I was deceived
And no one gives
What they receive

At least not as
I used to think
This boy is standing
At the brink

[ Of ]
Breaking down
And giving in
Surrender to
My father’s whim

And live the life
He left for me
Secure but in
Obscurity ~

[ And ]
It hurts to be misguided
By the things you trust the most
Like living a good life, to die
And find that Heaven’s closed

Or saving all your pennies for
Some unknown rainy day
To discover when you get there
They will not accept your change

And I thought I would accomplish
So much more within my life
I would travel ‘round the world
Visit my favorite places twice

Or maybe leave my mark somewhere
Someday someone might find
That somehow speaks more to their heart
Than it ever did to mine ~

Hiding there
Inside of me
Somewhere deep
That I can’t see

I know my dreams
Remain alive
Hear them whisper
In the night

[ But ]
Seldom do
They come to call
I know that when
The darkness falls

I"ll be alone
Inside this hell
And I have never, ever felt

No, I have never ever felt

Oh, I have never ever felt ~

So

Sweety, I am so honored to be able to hear these words they way you intend them.

As I told you last night this is truly a lyrical master piece. Absolutely one of your best.

Yes, I am a lucky girl.

Love you sweets

HOLY HECK SNAZZY!!!!!!!!!!

oh my my my! YES! I can hear him loud and clear in this scotty.
WOW. Freakin brilliant hun. [I am suddenly overcome with the
need to hear TSO!!! thanks a lot! lol]

The words ... oh god, the WORDS! They just jumped right of the page and became
a part of me. The insanity in you, struck so familiar a chord in me! I completely
relate to this piece on many many levels. Especially that last bit ... oh heavens
I think I may still shed a tear ..

Masterful work here Scotty. I think this is one of the most extraordinary writes I've read from
you ever. I found it completely captivating. You word wizardry is of extreme calibre and
the emotions you evoke ... true genius!

Trés bon, mon ami!!!!

Excellent work. So many of life's lessons seem to be weaved into this, and each verse just seemed to give you one more point to ponder. A very pleasant read. The ending was a nice payoff too.
