Doesn稚 play quite so,
But you still hit the Play
To hear that melodic cacophony.

And I値l lay down my head and hum
To the tune playing in my head,
After I hit that Play;
Eyes closed and searching
For that familiar beat.

Then I値l drift into a dream,
Leaving familiar behind
When I hit the Play;
And I awake with the Stars,
Dancing to a broken symphony.

In time it all slips away,
And I知 left so unfulfilled
When I hit the Play,
And all my searching
Finds only a crackled refrain.

But there are still those days
When the Record plays just so.
For when you hit the Play,
And lay down by my side and hum,
My search for harmony ends.

Sometimes it is more than that Marc, the right song, at the right time ... in the presence of the right companion ... and even on the right system even.

I can most definately relate. I hope that harmony fills more and more of your days.

Hey Marc it's nice to see another write from you!
This is fantastic and it's funny because I experience the same things you do when I listen to certain music.
Wonderful write and I look forward to reading more from you!

Wow. I really liked this poem Marc! I'm not sure if it was supposed to be metaphorical but it could certainly be interpreted that way. Like even when something isn't going as great as it could be, you persevere because eventually it will be worth it,

"But there are still those days
When the Record plays just so.
For when you hit the Play,
And lay down by my side and hum,
My search for harmony ends."

that stanza was perfect. This is just such a relatable piece because everybody has that "right" song. It's light and it flows really well, I'm impressed. Hope to see more from you soon!

music rules and it's the most inspirational form of art because it combines writing with sound.

play that record till it plays no more

(and listen to Against Me!)
