She cries on her bed
Shattered dreams
Bounce through her head

Bruises and cuts
Adorn her face
Her prince charming
Gone without a trace

Love is a word
Casually thrown
More is resentment
Planted and grown

Tomorrow he will say
How sorry he feels
But the pain that lasts
Is all too real

Lost to herself
Feeling useless and low
She wonders if there
Is really anywhere to go

Escalating the violence
Each attack more severe
She must leave now
Or die right here

It never ceases to amase me how you can write these so well, your in touch with a womans feeling who has been abused. Its all so sad yet the reality of it is ongoing. Death is those sort of situations is very real. It doesnt take much.

Your wording and flow blended each feeling.
Great work my friend.

Love you
Michelle

Domestic violence is such a hushed up subject , but not a rare occurence. You have written this so lifelike, and to the point. It gets the point across, You should never stay in a violent relationship. Thank you for raising this subject, it was an honour to read this. Sue x

Again powerfully gripping capturing the pain and emotion of today's savagery by excuses for humans being. I'll share a poem I wrote 'bout this in a pm. Masterfully done, Shari

One of the last poems I wrote called, Walk On Me, is about a dear friend in an abusive situation. The same day I wrote it, she was punched in the jaw by her husband and he stayed in jail for the night. Thankfully, she left the house and has not returned yet. Something I've begged her to do for more than four years.

When I get a chance, I will share your poem with her. I think it will help her keep her resolve to stay away from him.

Thanks for sharing this write!

Carol
