[hometext] => this came to mind when looking at a ruined stately home
[bodytext] => Time The light ring on a blackened wall The decrepit clock stopped in the hall Where time was, but now no more The roof now fallen on the floor Time ran out for the once stately pile Where people lived in some great style The once beautiful marble fireplace Usually graced by the human race The dinning hall once a place of joy Now empty like a broken toy The ghosts of hosts who once lived here Are friendly, not the ones to fear The masters of this magnificent hall Traditionally held a “Christmas” Ball. Life in the hall was always good Abundance of such healthy food Like all good things come to an end With costs to high to comprehend Time on the clock just after eight Soon this pile will meet its fate [comments] => 2 [counter] => 214 [topic] => 44 [informant] => geordie [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 9 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Nostalgic )
