That's Something

Contributed by Exodus on Sunday, 25th June 2006 @ 05:41:27 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

You're sensible and relentless
I cross my fingers as I have no defense against this

Humbled by your integrity
And I can't quite project those words you said to me

What's to yearn?
What's left in this bitter place for me to possibly learn?

Your promises only gurantee me lies
The worst isn't over as the wind lifts up into the orange skies

Accompanied by my memories
I have something no one ever sees

Something incredible, something grand
You may choose to sit and I will choose to stand

Your eyes cross my path
I pray they may be fearful, apprehensive words swirled in the aftermath

You're thoughtful and make me frightful
The cold lingers on your lips and I feel absolutely delightful

But the evacuation has left me here
Full of hate and full of thought-provoking fear

I await execution, no miracle, no machina
I hope the weather's nice in Argentina

And we drift
And the Earth splits

Begrudged
Painting smudged

At once we were full of strength and self-reliance
Torn away by nothing but simple defiance

I want to be something different
That's something, isn't it?
