As the Snow Queen watches,
Gleefully,
As the wings of freedom are once again being torn from my back.
I bite back the screams of agony I wish to let free,
Because of the pain.
This unbearable,
Excruciating pain which I endure for Her sick & twisted pleasure.
She smiles so cruelly,
As she watches the blood flow freely from the wounds on my back.
She hands me the blade she knows I crave.
I want to give into the craving so badly,
But I can't.
Not now,
Not ever again.
She laughs at me because she knows I grow weaker by the day.
She is encouraging me to give in,
But I still refuse.
I'm surrounded by my own blood,
Hoping it will soon stop.
But in the Snow Queen's Kingdom,
Pain,
Misery,
Loneliness,
And more are freely shown.
She enjoys my pain,
My loneliness.
Death,
He loving husband,
Watches over,
Then disappears,
Thinking to himself just how cruel his lovely wife can be.
He can't stand all the pain she puts us,
Me,
Through each & every day.
I shall never be free of my chains,
For I am constantly being re-shackled.
I go off into a corner,
As the tears begin to slowly,
Softly trace a burning path down my cheeks.
I hardly can feel them anymore,
Simply because I've become so utterly numb.
I stare at the blade,
Looking at all the dried blood on the edge.
My blood,
My ultimate release.
A temporary release.
Nothing more,
Nothing less.
I toss the blade away from me,
And I am being dragged out of hiding to be punished for doing so.
She just stands there & laughs ever so cruelly,
As I am being mercilessly whipped & tortured.
I bite back my screams once more,
And welcome the numbness when it occurs. Whoa!, Dude!
I really think you should start reading the funnies in the paper.
You need to cheer up a little.
That said, I thought your poem was clearly
and intentionally brutal in it's message.
Your passion and your fear and your desire for punishment is exquisitely revealed.
A good read just before bedtime.
