Her heart brighter than a sunny day
No longer facing the terror
She can now see a new way

Stronger than any super hero
She has faced the darkest of nights
Not a victim or a zero
She has fought and won the big fight

Out of the depth of despair
She has risen to shine like the sun
Life is not always fair
But does not mean you can’t have fun

She will not dwell on what was
But enjoy the life she has created
Around her others just buzz
How could anyone feel so sated?

When they have suffered so
Raped and abused for years
But she has chosen to grow
And not wallow in her tears

Her freedom she values most
As she starts this new journey
She will to others be host
Positive thinking is her key

Standing in front of the mirror
Her heart brighter than a sunny day
