her heart was broken, cut with a knife,
life full of fear, frightened to dare,
frightened to feel the breeze in hair,

her confidence gone, her spirits broken,
wanting to sleep, never be woken,
happiness eludes her, nerves frayed and raw,
terrified of a knock on the door,

Hiding from, the world and his wife,
hoping praying for a new life,
phobias, fears, out of preportion,
every new move, taken with caution,

looking for some one to show her the way,
to lead her to a new brighter day,
where happiness and laughter prefail,
where all her dreams and hopes never fail,

deep inside her that person lives,
full of hope and so much to give,
life is so short, it cant be planned,
she needs to grab life, in both her hands, [comments] => 3 [counter] => 214 [topic] => 32 [informant] => lillyjane [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )

Fears are our worst enemy, but believe me they can be overcome. There will always be someone there to lend a helping hand. These words explain the fear inside.

Here is a hand , just take hold,
With help , you can be so bold...
For someone will always be near,
To help to take away your fear.

This poem is marvellous, and so truthful. Sue x

Wonderful poem, very well written. Remember though, life may be short but it will be the longest thing you ever do so therefore there is time to fight those fears and take the plunge and grab all those hopes and dreams. You don't have to be so cautious Lillyjane, sod it, go for it!

I completely agree with Sue. Fear DOES hold us back sometimes..
but I too believe it can be overcome. Especially if we
surround ourselves with ones who truly care.

Wonderful expression here. And the flow was utter perfection.
