[bodytext] => I’ve felt those same sharp stabbing pains.
I’ve cried those bitter tears. I’ve spent those long and sleepless nights And realized my worst fears. I also know I felt that I Could not make it through the day. And in silent deep depression, Could think of nothing kind to say. Anger and rage controlled my mind. There was no peace to share. There was no comfort I could find, While I searched for a soul to care. While in your own pain, So deep and wide, Feeling dejected and Stripped clean of pride, I tried to comfort you, And give you relief. But how could I do that, While in my own grief? When a country emerges Victorious through war, Even when weakened And battered and sore, After the cadence fades from The last battle song, We suddenly realize It’s together we’re strong.
