Array ( [sid] => 121891 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => You Always Say I Never Notice [time] => 2006-06-17 02:57:35 [hometext] => I find it odd when we act as if we miss the little things in someone, generally superficial, sometimes not, especially when deep down, you could pick out nearly everything in a heartbeat. [bodytext] => You always say I never notice
But you see,
Never takes Always for a ride sometimes
And I am a liar,
I know you changed your hair.
Though parted still on the left,
I see a break, where a red ribbon
Holds in place the contrasting dark hair
Lazily waving its way backwards into
What would appear an arbitrary and
Chaotic knot.
But you see,
I know better. Such a knot was
Carefully crafted to mimic
Spontaneity.
As if combining your duality
Into one symbol unintentionally
Defining finally the method of your madness.

In between, your eyes are not aesthetically breathtaking
But fear not, I have seen the potential they
Possess to unabashedly engender the triumph
That you seek, and I must note the sage green harboring
Flecks of brown that seem to proudly declare
Independence from asymmetry. As eyes often tend to be
More beautiful than their reflection in a mirror,
These too happen to be two emerald emblematic
Ambassadors to a mind I will never have the privilege
Of personally experiencing.

Between your shirt and your jeans you have left
Your skin exposed, about the size of the spine of a book in an
Oddly opposite fashion, as the bareness is more akin to the words
Of your body, while the rest is merely a cover.
Judge not a book by its cover,
We must read to find true meaning. Again I find the
Small contradiction
Of your conservative style to this few inches of exposure alluding
To what one could only assume as a “wild side”
Alluring. But more importantly this small strip of parchment,
Though but a passage in the book, speaks volumes for confidence.

The cross you bear
Around your neck
Speaks altogether less for you as it does your world
As you subtly transform the naïve beliefs of a little girl
Into a message, a morality, a foundation on which you
Endure. And though I do not share your faith, I admire you for it.
We must all find our road to walk if we are to live so tried
In hopes you and I will take our inevitability in stride.

Be not scared to trust, for trust is love and love is hard. You say I
Never notice, but I know you try, through humor and sadness,
To hide quality and fault, and I, I see them all,
I trust them all,
I love them all. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 223 [topic] => 16 [informant] => Benny14 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => FriendshipPoetry )
