As far I can see
Is that one day you'll just forget about me
And five years from now,
I'm just memories

And these feelings we have
Are wasted and gone
After all that's been said
And all that's gone wrong
After all that we've been through
And all that's to come
We both know we could make it
The way things are now

"In love" doesn't fade
As quick as they say
The worst you could do
Is prove me wrong one day

I'd rather that you
Take a piece of my heart
Leave me broken and shattered
Unable to start over new
And if you must leave,
I'd rather it be with the best part of me
THan to one day mean nothing to you

The worst that could happen
Is you'll disappear
And expect me to move on the same
You'll go on without me and grow not to care
Until one day I'm just a name [comments] => 2 [counter] => 152 [topic] => 2 [informant] => gabby521 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )

Wow! great poem! I recently had the situation described in your poem happen. it really is the worst feeling when someone doens't care how much you love them the only thing that matters is they don't. i look forward to reading more of your work!
