I’ve set out for the sky
with broken knees
un casted, improper healing
setting out for my journey
only to go... Several thousand feet
I’ve set upon my back
a fully prepared pack
a 5,000 mile vision
backpacking to the top of the mountain
only a bite size meal every day
and no shower till it rains
only one pair of shoes
im ready to set loose
on my several thousand feet hike
I’ve pulled my hair back tight,
steps forward and upward I begin
setting forth toward my vision
5,000 miles high
to the shadows end where the sun will rise
I BELIEVE....
I can make it to the top of this one way journey
its all uphill climbing
I will cut, I will bruise I will bleed
I will have to slither on my back to get underneath
small spaces and things
I will end up bare feet
my knees will heal improperly
dirt will cover my entire body
my faith will test me
the shame of God will shamefully beset me
imbalance will shake me
dehydration and hunger will almost kill me
all of this hiking I will do in the darkness
I will crawl, scoot and climb for sunrise
to see the pale’ish pink blue skies
and the yellow contrast of the suns rays
a crystal sky upon to gaze...
To be inhaled with my eyes
till then I will go on in the darkness
on this mountain I climb
calling out to God in the night
to get me to sunlight
for the only way to get to the other side
is to climb over this mountain in the darkness of the night
my belief in him will be tested
my vision will be tainted
I will be climbing on the ledge
and I will make it by my last failing breath-

Wow such a wondeful and beautiful poem; you have captured the essences of life very well. You have shown that life is not an easy climb; we experience hardships along the way. Keep the faith and continue your journey of the vision you seek. May God watch over you and protect you.

Dear Adelle,

I like your poetry. You speak the truth and thats whats most important, but I also like the flow and rhythm you have, it reflects the ceaseless desperation of the journey you are on. To pursue love and holiness and truth with all your heart, that is how true beauty is acquired. May the Lord bless and protect you on your journey. (And he does, I am certain.) Im pleased to be travelling in the same direction as you on the Way.

Grace, love and peace be with you.
Joshua
