Fogged from passions heat
Drawing in the stale air
Her clothes around her on the seat

Not her first time and won’t be the last
She is caught in a spiral out of control
She no longer respects herself
Each new guy tears at her soul

All she wanted was to feel pretty
To be loved not just an object of lust
But after each time she feels more lost
In herself she can not even trust

She started at thirteen with an older guy
He told her she was sexy and hot
Took her virginity that night
And left her at that very spot

Walking home she felt so used
And then he spread it all around school
There they were all laughing and talking
She felt like such a fool

Then all the football team
Each wanting to take a turn
Telling her she may as well
Names they called into her heart burned

She no longer believed
She could ever be wanted
She was lost to herself
Spirit bared and naked

Epitome of abysmal betrayal.
The horror of being used and degraded is brilliantly displayed, almost visually.

But there are also more subtle betrayals, not necessary on the physical level, but on the psychic level, that work to destroy the mind.
And it may even go under the name and bannerof "kindness". with hypocricy diabolically smiling.
Tragic (understatement)

Great job Shari - with so "tragic" a theme, portraying the degradation of the Image of .
God,

Good gracious Shari, this was heart breaking!
I'll never understand how people can treat each other
in such a cruel and hurtful way. I firmly believe that
emotional scars are the hardest to bear. The pain from
a physical cut disappears and heals - the pain from
an emotional cut stays with you forever. And it can
easily be re-opened by someone who can't see that
it is even there. Powerful write, hun. So sad.

Shari~
A most heart breaking and sad write you have here my dear friend. The physical and emotional scars last a lifetime in situations like this. I don't know how people to do such horrendous things like that to others.
Her spirit is broken and looks beyond repair. May God look after us always and forever.
A sad, but very well penned poem.
love n hugs,
