I like the words; the music’s sound,
And I’m not from the back woods
I’m a city boy, she once found

I’m sitting here listening and waiting
While my heart is beating,
Downloading, previewing each song
And the clock, it’s ticking

It seems I don’t like any choice I make
I don’t know, maybe I’m just tired,
I’ve got no one to share with, these country tunes-
I’m playing---no longer get me wired

I look out the window; skies are the same
Still cloudy and gray, like it’s been all along,
And it isn’t thundering enough for me
To drown out “Your Man,” Josh Turners song

She’ll never know and I won’t call
She hasn’t been around since we’ve been apart,
I’ll just sit here and wait; listen to all three: heart, clock and song
And bawl like a baby, as it previews my heart
