Array ( [sid] => 121205 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => A different life [time] => 2006-06-03 10:23:07 [hometext] => Recently I have gone through a very tough bout of depression which is now starting to fade. [bodytext] => Intro: My life has been impacted by the depression I have gone through, so much so that I can not post or read poetry the way i used to. I will keep my account going on the site but will post and read about 50 poems a year. I know this will affect some of my friends on site but know that i am okay. I just do not have the access to a computer that i once had and I need time to recover from the things that have changed my life. Today represents the happiest time I have had in my life in the last 3 years.

I was thinking about me just the other day
as I looking into the mirror while I was shaving
pondering past journeys and past stories
remembering the man i used to be

That isolated creature is almost buried
in the dust of joys that bring me to new friends
The shades are drawn and sunlight shines upon me
where darkness once irked my soul to no end

Cascading paths of pain are now diverging
the crooked hills are now becomimg straight
I''m not afraid to go out in the morning
to greet my neighbors and to make new friends

The shards of broken heart are pieced together
The mirrth of life is sweeter than before
My world has turned from grey to ver'' bright colors
I hope will not be blocked out any more

So if my voice seems fading in these past days
it is because there''s so much world to see
A different life has been given unto me
A life of joy and dreams of being free

Just surfin' through Home poems, saw Archie, posted in Inspirational, 4 reads, 1 comment, 5 rating. Well that was four times more than I needed to jump in here and read a master of inspirational words. Absolute, coherent, and poetically logical. Good luck, Archie, I hope ya leave all your posts 'cause I ain't read 'em all yet! And, congratulations ... and please look into getting a book published. Ya got the stuff!

I was very depressive at one time, so can understand the downward spiral. Yes I am also a survivor not only that , I am a much stronger person than I ever was before. I think your words express it all really well. All good wishes. Your poem is remarkable. Thank you, Sue x

Lovely write. You will get through the depression. Not sure if its about a lost love....but if it is, please read my poem called "We where never meant to be"....hope you will find some light in it.Try not to allow depression to take over,as when it does it holds on tight.Try to get to the reason behind the depression ,face it head on and fight it with everything in you.Be gentle with yourself and believe in you.Depression can be beaten...I have seen it many time. You have a special place in this world, just like everybody els.Take a stand against the depression and replace it with new and beautiful things. You CAN do it...do it for YOU.You'll find the strength within.Take care ok.
