I made a point to burn down the house
To drink myself into complete absolution and disarray
I watched from the corners of my mind
As things up, flipped and ran away
You'd think they'd have a solution
To drain or soak up all this polution
I miss all the reasons for me to achieve
It only hurts when I leave
Like punch-drunk love
Sitting and staring at anything and nothing at every second of every day
Without slumber
It seems like forever when I hear them say
You'd think they'd have a reason
Or maybe to think I'd commit treason
Against all the things I know you'll never see
It only hurts when I leave
Forgetting and retiring, altogether my mind re-wiring
Resisting and assisting, still remember and I am missing
All the things I had before I made mistakes
My foot is stuck on the gas and it seems I have no brakes
But I will disappear with disaster
I made a point to burn the house down
I went away and I took a different path
With a smile, with a frown
