If I relax, close my eyes, and reminisce.
I can almost smell the scent of lilacs
lingering richly in the air.
I can hear the sounds of sheets flapping,
through a fragrant warm summer's breeze
mingling playfully with our laughter,
while you are playing hide and seek with me.
.....Sweet memories of you I cherish.
I inhale the aroma of baking bread,
as you speak wisely to me of the ways of life.
Sharing with me insightful womanly secrets,
advice lovingly given from your heart.
You were always there willing to lend an ear,
or a shoulder to cry on, when I needed comfort.
You were the compass that guided my path.
.....Your love remains alive in my heart.
A mother's pure love lives on and on..........
Death has no power over the love we shared.
I treasure all these fond memories of you.
I ponder them each time with a thankful heart.
My prayer is that I can live all you taught me,
passing it on through my children one day.
Hoping your love lives on through generations.
.....Your unconditional love survives you.
