MY BEST FRIEND

MY BEST FRIEND

My best friend said Goodbye today
This is to be his last Goodbye
We have shared so much together
All I can do is sit and cry

My heart is crying, lonely tears
We have always been there for each other
I’ll never again find a friend like him
Will never again feel so close to another

My best friend said Goodbye today
I wish I could change his mind
Broken hearts need a soul mate to hold
Shouldn’t leave the past behind

A loving hug, a hand to hold
A shoulder to cry on, so many tears
Who else can provide some comfort?
Only a friend for so many years

My best friend said Goodbye today
I must give him time and space
One day we will be together again
In Another time, another place

I’ll not give up, friends forever
Soul mates from the start
He will live here always in my soul
Always deep within my heart

seems to me that goodbye can be one of the most difficult words to say. ranking right up there with sorry. very emotional piece.
