I trust, believe and love you Lord,
My highest greatest good!
And praise you from my deepest soul
With fervent gratitude;
And I adore you Lamb of God
Hid in the Sacrament,
Shrouding and veiling flesh and blood,
Your love’s great testament.

You are the light, the day, the sun,
And I am the glowering night,
Yet darkness must give way and fade
Before your radiant light.
You draw and breathe me into you
And then you breathe me out,
So I in turn may beam and spread
Your radiance round about.

I love and praise you without end,
You ocean without shoal
And boundaries, for you cries out
My restless yearning soul;
I am a raindrop in the flood
Nearing the unfathomed sea;
You take me up, - I am no more,
By your divine decree.

Below is my mother's origional text in German

Ewiges Lieben

Ich glaub an Dich, ich liebe Dich
in Demut hoechstes Gut,
Dich preise ich aus tiester Seel,
mit heisser Liebesglut;
Ich bete an Dich Gotteslamm,
im heilgen Sakrament'
Geheimistiefes Wunder still
in meinem Herzen brennt.

Du bist das Licht, der Sonnentag,
ich bin die dunkle Nacht;
Es schwindet hin die Dunkelheit
durch Deines Lichtes Pracht.
Du ziehst mich Brot in Dich hinein
und stroemst mich wieder aus,
Du strahlst das Licht in mich hinein,
ich trag Dein Leichten aus

Ich liebe Dich, ich lobe Dich,
Du uferloses Meer
Hab Dank dass ich Dich lieben darf,
je laenger, desto mehr.
Ich bin ein Regentropfen nur
der Deiner Flut sich naht,
Und bin nicht mehr, Du nahmst mich
auf durch Gottes weisen Rat.

Beautiful. It's obvious you inherited talent from your mother for writing. Enjoyed it.

A wonderfully uplifting piece Elizabeth. Beautiful in every way.

Thanks for sharing this. It speaks not only of your mother's love for
the Divine, but of your love for her as well. And that is stunning!

Splendid post!
