When I sat alone in the dark wishing for a friend?
Your absence fed my anger.
My anger fed my fear,
My fear pushed me to the edge.
Pushed me to the bottle.

Your words cut like a knife.
I may be young.
You may be older.
Naiveté doesn’t begin to explain my life.
You wish it did.
For if it did, yours would be so much clearer.

You look down on me with a fierce implication,
“Grow up, or go away.”
But darling, you are the child.
In every action I see your inexperience shine through your veneer.
Rock God, Hippie Spawn,
This will never work.

In likeness and in disparity we are yet to agree.
You see through the bottle,
Blame those you can’t see through the night.
I’m becoming like you, I can feel it.
It’s time for me to go. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 156 [topic] => 6 [informant] => UrbanFlower [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => AngryPoetry )

Sometimes the person we hate most is such simply because we are doomed to become them. And when you love a person you adapt to them so you are likely to become similar to them then too. If this worries you then help them improve themselves in order to give you a healthier goal.

Don't let the bottle take over you. It isn't worth it in the end. True love isn't woth the drink if your having problems.Maybe he is too young for you. I lke the expression here on how you let our feelings out.

Nice poem.

It's nice to see a poem revolved around murder, torture and insanity in the angry section.. well done
