one long, sweet moment of breath...

fueling us with the dopamine
we need

stranded on an oasis
buried in the background radiation
A set of lungs, a tongue,
a pair of lips and a larynyx sing

this is a gift from your
unseen master
who you claim
claims death
our punishment
for eating from the tree

as a dog does die, so do we

so through this
subtle manipulation
our golden drop of levity now becomes a
portal to an eroded state of
confusion and all purpose
to all things is disarrayed as
complacency spreads
devouring at random

we needed that levity
in this electronic brain
ask the foreboding questions
you have to know it ends
there is something wrong with this place,
foul poisonous lips, spew forth pious lies...

slurs of pride
infecting all with the
it's okay it's okay even though we never were okay attitude

You know it's
from the truth that he hides you...

behind your own delusions and ideas
your own mutations
there isn't a thing left for anyone
everyone will die
but your accusers
your masters
your idols
your gods
because you believe a lie

the herd needs the shepard
but the earth
doesn't need the herd

your truths disguised
no secrets revealed

for the earth

now die

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
