As your heart calls out to me,
I can hear it whispering
The soft melodies we used to sing,
I can feel it gazing into
The deepest chambers of my soul
And mine echoes its need for yours.
You don't understand, mentally,
That I know what you are thinking
In your heart,
And in the deepest, darkest, places
That make you, you.
You think that I've given up
That I don't care,
But you are my sanity,
My forever.
I feel your passion and your love and your grace
Giving me new strength
To make it through today
And through all of my tomorrows.
You are my friend.
And no matter how far apart we are
That, in itself, is all that matters.
In the deepest parts of me, you are my shadow.
Connected to my life,
And my movement,
Just as I am connected to yours.
This is the oldest form of dance.
The most primitive of connections.
Because deep down we both know
That what we have is different.
So goodnight Shadow,
My dreams are yours,
And may God bless you
Until I hold you once again.

An interesting take on love remembered fondly, as friendship.

"So goodnight Shadow,
My dreams are yours, "

Lovely sentiments.
Thanks for sharing it. Nice first submission, too.
