i have been a book,
with a blank cover
with fresh, clean,
virgen pages

You stumbled across this book
more sleeping than dead
and your fingertips
adorned the seemingly lifeless cover
with the most breathtaking
intricate design

Stimulated by curiosity
you open it up
you gaze upon the empty pages
which stare back;
in amazement
never having witnessed
a blue like your eyes
and almost instantaneously
the sparkle of your eyes
cause a plethora of letters
to be inscribed

Your breath
as light as the clouds
or as heavy as fruit
is the most elegant of all melodies
motivating the letters to dance around
forming words
organizing sentences
adding punctuation
taking what was once
a barren wasteland
and bringing it to life

When you you put this book down
when you bid me farewell
the music stops
and sentences fall apart
the words no longer make sense
the letters stop dancing
utter silence and stillness
and the letters fall
helpless like soldiers
then they glide right off the pages

I'm back to square one
a book with no words
is no use to anyone

very nicely done..remember, though, that a book without words is just waiting to be filled.

Oh boy!!!!

Well, you had this reader with the author's note up there! I'm a huge fan of poets, of metapoetry, of the process... and of thoughts like these.

This piece speaks to me, in many ways as my own thoughts do. I can embrace this as if it were my own, appreciate that it is not and recommended this to anyone that feels the undeniable need to pen their thoughts/feelings.

Well done!!! Keep writing!!

~Snemmy
