Hand in hand the valley below
Standing, the battle awaits
Where nightmares walk and rational thought is dead
Hand in hand
Glad to have you here
Here at the end of all things

It’s been a long walk
My skin burned my senses numb
I haven’t eaten in weeks
My clothes ounce new now tattered and fallen
I am so tired but you keep me keeping on
The only sanity in a desert of madness

I am naked
Stripped in the knife wind
You keep me warm
Share the cross you cursed me with
Keep the demon dogs at bay

I have walked, and starved, and cried for those I left behind
I have suffered but I no longer mind the pain
The heat, the dark, the rain
I have you to hold my hand
Here we stand the dark lands below

When I left home you were with me
Hand in hand you showed me the way
But I got cocky at the mountain
I climbed to fast and fell
Then had to find another way
The devil found me there
He tore my clothes and I ran with him
His sulphur breath kept me awake at night

Finally I collapsed
My life force spent slipping away
I cried out to you as the monsters came forth
And you came
You took my hand and they vanished cursing into the dust
I’ll never let go again

Hand in hand let us go to the valley below
Darkness waits
All my friends are gone my family dead
My life past forsaken
I watched the millions die as they chocked on there fruit
I saw, empires fall and felt my heart break with the loneliness of loss
All that was before is gone
There is nothing behind but dust

Come let us go hand in hand to valley dark valley bellow
Death waits
I could still turn back
I will stand
For all the reasons it’s the only thing to do
I’m glad to hold your hand as I descend into hell
To the dark land and then perhaps home
