WITHOUT LOVE WE DIE

WITHOUT LOVE WE DIE

An orphanage south of France

where all homeless children are given a chance.

Years on end, the question could not be answered.

Why? Oh Why? did their infants die? They
had all their bases covered.

Each tiny crib lined against the North wall

They were carefully feed, and never damp at all.

Orphanages are always looking for more volunteers

The Administrator was baffled, and shed tears.

The nursery was scrubbed from top to bottom

Yet, these little people never seemed to blossom.

Although not sick, eventually they all seemed to die

All, that is, but the one crib at the end, from it
all seemed to survive.

Without technology that could be applied today

The nurses decided to take turns and watch
the nursery on every shift, in every way.

Nothing of significance seemed to show up.
Meticulous observances still didn't seem to
solve or shakeup!

Then it suddenly happened at midnight

The cleaning lady was seen scrubbing the floor
with all her might.

Scrubbing the floor from the door to the back

She sat in a chair near the last crib, waiting
for the floor to dry, energy lack.

While seated the infant sensed her presence

He awakened, and broke the silence.

She picked him up, cuddled him, cooed
songs in his wee ear.

Like an infant sponge he was made to feel
that he was truly dear.

Their mystery in the nursery was solved.

Causes for the nursery deaths were dissolved

Volunteers came to love them more, and
set their little souls aglow.

It takes lots of love for little people to grow.

A principle well known now, and will always apply....
Without love we die!

*wipes a tear*

How positively endearing and heart-wrenching at the same
instant. Thank you for sharing this as it is something a lot of us
seem to forget. I had heard this story before, but your rendition
or it's re-telling was so beautifully placed in poetic verse.
Wonderful job.

*smiles and hugs*

How wonderful it is ConSue that you wring the bell on this grave issue.

It just wrote my comment and it vanished again. So, this is a re-write.
It's so good of you to bring the sorrowful story of the plight of these poor innocent children to the fore.
Heart-wrenching.!
May the Lord send them loving and compassionate people on their way that make up for their terrible suffering.

Thanks for writing so beautifully about their pain.

Thanks for ringing the bell on a vital issue
Blessings!
