Nothing New

Contributed by xDiSaStErPiEcEx on Sunday, 7th May 2006 @ 08:04:44 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

Girl hiding in the corner,
Face hidden in her hands.
She feels so isolated,
Like no one understands.
I dont know why she cries,
I know she secretly does.
I wonder what i can do,
I wonder if its because,
Everyone bullies her,
Everyone stops to stare.
How can she not want to die?
When she knows nobody cares.
How can she not cut her wrists?
To slowly ease the pain.
How can you blame her?
As she hopes to hit a vein.
You couldnt survive,
What shes going through.
You say it shouldnt happen,
But to her its N.O.T.H.I.N.G.N.E.W.

i agree it's not really shocking, it's actually a trendy topic to write about, sing about, talk about. I thought this poem was very nicely put together. You wouldn't believe how many poems on this very subject I've read and they all sound the same but this one was different. (nothing new), that in itself I think sets the poem on a different plane, by acknowleging how this is not a novelty act. That probably doesn't make much sense but I still liked the poem.
