Two fish and five fresh barley loaves of bread
The lad had when he passed before the crowd,-
An insignificant and scrawny lad
Was asked to hold his basket's content out.

“Go on, hold out your basket! - be so kind,
So many hungry mouths are to be fed,
We know not what the master has in mind
With two small fishes and five loaves of bread.

Wait for the Lord! - He surely will provide,
Just as the crowed that came to hear His word,
And nourished by His food were satisfied,
For nurturing and caring is the Lord.

The bread and fish passed on from hand to hand,
And while it passed, the food was multiplied,
Amazing and miraculous event,
What must have thought our scrawny little wight?

The lad must have been stunned there is no doubt,
What did he later to his parents say?
When asked who had the generous lunch bestowed
That grew to feed a multitude this day.

The little lad, so insignificant,
Perhaps he never spent a day in school,
Became by Jesus’ choice the instrument
To feed the multitude,- His chosen tool.

Who ever knows on our various ways,
Whom He will use and chose with us to meet
As the appointed agent that purveys
By gracious Providence all that we need.

The smallest thing you give to Him will thrive,
Increase and burgeon, germinate, expand,
And grow to benefit your neighbor’s life,
If it does pass through our Savior’s hand.

It will increase and sprout, expand and spread,
No matter if your gift be small and slim
Trust Him that multiplies the fish and bread!
Blessed are those that put their hope in Him.

Unfathomable are His ways Oh soul~
You know not who will be His instrument,
Praise God and know that He is in control
Through whosoever He is pleased to send!!

Elizabeth, this is fabulous! This is such a beautiful reminder of the providence of God.

Beautiful verses for us to enjoy,
Food for the masses did He employ!

I love the beautiful art too. Thank you for this blessing!

It is indeed a wonderful poem. That projected a pictorial event of the provider our Lord.
And in this poem I also read a message that my poet friend has concealed between these beautiful verses, that says ‘united we shall triumph’ Pl. read these lines:
“The bread and fish passed on from hand to hand,
And while it passed, the food was multiplied,
Amazing and miraculous event,
What must have thought our scrawny little wight?”
it is indeed a miraculous event, changing 5000 men and women'S HEARTS to SHARE their bread and fish between them.

So man Miracles did he perform.........and many times those present didn't even conform, but his message was to preach the Kingdom of His Father.........to show us what he would do for us under that Kingdom. Having plenty of food was one of them!
You did an excellent job on this one ED as you do every time you pick up your pen and write!
Enjoyable!
Warm love

Elizabeth, Once again you bring the story to life and light. A small insignificant one is used to be an instrument of Light, showing once again, that whatever you give will be returned to you- sometimes, even more than thrice.
Peace and Light!! Sara
