We grew up together, went to the same school,
drove the teachers crazy, giggled in the hall,
you said when you grew up, a princess you would be,
we always played that game, when I came to yours for tea,

We played knock down ginger, laughed and ran away,
went to the park together, played on the swings all day,
we could be such tomboys, our clothes were full of holes,
then go back to my house, to play with our dolls,

We became teenagers went out with the lads,
came home really late, got clobbered by our dads,
then we both got married, no longer were we free,
we babysat each others kids, and chatted over tea..

Now your emigrating, thought it would never end,
when your all them miles away, i'll still be your best friend.. Aw thats so sweet! It really reminded me of what I used to have with some people. Although it made me sad, it gave me hope. If you're really friends, no distance could take it away. I'm glad you have such a great friendship and I hope someday I'll be able to write a friendship poem like this one on a little happier note than my others. Nice write!
