[time] => 2006-04-22 08:02:14 [hometext] => My friend recently passed away from a tragic attack. i felt that poetry will make me closer to his lost soul it's not much of a poem really it's just about how i felt at the time. [bodytext] => 'C'ya later Liz'
but there was no later
you didn't come back to school, after those words
i didn't know
that week later, i got a phone call
you were in a coma
from an asthma attack
and two cardiac arrests
i prayed through my tears and sobs.
always picking up my phone to ask if you were ok
if you'd woken up, you hadn't yet.
Two weeks after that my phone rang...
I sobbed for hours and punched my wall
i was supposed to visit you in the royal children's that day
and say my last goodbyes
i remember all those times
those times i'll never forget
i remember drawing your face
wishing you were still here
As i saw your flowered white coffin, the tears renewed
i don't remember much of that day
i don't think i want to.
i just remember your face happy and bright.
'C'ya later Liz'
'C'ya later Myles'
but for now close your eyes
and wait til' we meet again....
you'll always be in my heart, to remain
forever young.........

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
