The and My Goodbye

Contributed by Exodus on Wednesday, 19th April 2006 @ 10:11:37 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

A moment of clarity that I hope to begin
I fold my arms behind my head with a grin

Like a crystal dream that shattered
With a smile like that dream never even mattered

I never meant to hurt you, I never meant to lie
In the end there is a beginning, so this is and should be goodbye

Behind the truth, as I wait for you and lose my mind
Questions in a faith that shall remain not so kind

With my head upon the table, a sudden grimace at the pin-prick in my hand
I'd cry if only I'd let me, but I don't think I can

My everything is not what it should be, its something I cannot put my finger on
The man with all the answers whispered, but now that man is gone

I am on my knees for an answer, with all my thoughts I let this wish fly
I would give it wind with my will, but then my will shall die

What good is will if I should not hold it? What good is my spirit with no voice?
Its like waking up with music, but not hearing any noise

I am a message in a bottle, sent across a raging unfair sea
This water does not care for moments, times in which I find Me

The Me is what I'm after, if not then why should things suddenly twist and turn
If not for these feelings, what else is left to burn?

That is the answer, that which lies only inches from my grasp
Like a low tide kissing the beaches and really no use for a map

The fact is and shall remain that I am not dead
I am not losing anything especially not my head

It was a failure at opportunity, and it shall slide right on by
There shall be more opportunities, so this really is my goodbye
