Goodbye for Now

Goodbye for now,
write it down
and forget it,
burn it,
erase it.
No more pain,
but the hard part is
letting it go.
A knife in the back
hands holding you down,
you say:
Goodbye for now.
Whispers of death
suspended in time
and history
written in books
and buried in the ground
and you say:
Goodbye for now.
Rain brings the life.
Rain brings your sorrow.
You're locked and chained,
he has a gun to your head
but you never scream
you just look on as
he pulls the trigger.
Darkness floods.
Light snaps back,
and you say:
Goodbye for now.
