The snow will melt and rains shall fall,
Fresh air will soon behold us all,
Leaves return and flowers bloom.
As spring returns it’s warmth at noon.

The children run and laugh and play,
Spring at last the suns bright rays.
Winter has finally come and gone,
Summer is coming it won’t be long.

Once again I’m reminded though,
A mother named Mary many years ago.
Watched in horror and suffered great loss,
She watched her child die on a cross.

Imagine the grief, the hurt and pain,
Knowing she’d never see him again.
Painful thoughts that crossed her mind,
And the loneliness that faced her with time.

Then try to imagine that next day,
To visit a tomb, the stone rolled away.
Then to hear an Angel say,
Your child, Mary, has risen this day.

Through many trials and life she trod,
Now knowing her child was the Son of God.
He died on that cross, and this gift that he gives,
This Easter reminds us that “Jesus Lives.”
