To capture the future
In steady hands
With thoughtful demands
Copious plans

Backlash
From the wash
The cleaning of the mind
Sweeping of the time
Keeping close all of yours
None mine

Bolster the hope
Holster the rope
Place the canyons on hold
-the chokehold rolled
Tumble and stoned
Dizzy, marrow, bone

Specific to this case
Terrific lasting taste
Intrinsic values
Gone to waste
On loan from dusty space
Among the neighbors
With a common face

Silence for the speaker
Reliance on the keeper
Of all money and power
Of all sweet honey-
And green apple sour
Come grapple
And become devoured
By a feud
Among lovers
Naked alone in the cold shower

Commiserate with glee
Obliterate hate-
Propagate to relate
To a characteristic trait
Straight, flaw out of the gate
Head first into the green lake
Into the center of the sun
Where raspberry pie
Bakes
In heat
In peace
Upbeat
With broad shoulders
And a heart in need
Of substance to read
Of confidence to succeed
Without tolerance
And angelic speed
Comes reverence
Of a false idol and its creed

Blast or bust
Into guiding trust
Into providing hugs
Of love and warmth
Of forbearance
Patience-
My
Son.

Patience-
Come

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
