There was too much to be done
Which was always the case with his vocation

There was a presence about him
His huge physical stature helped him to win
So whenever he needed to request
He would merely stand to address the rest

For resources were difficult to find
And the future of the parish was on the line
But when he opened his mouth, his voice was meek
They had to listen carefully to hear him speak

All were expecting a loud and burley voice
But instead, a soft and soothing choice
His tone was kind and loving
Although his request for help was compelling

Others wondered how he got it done
With his gentle style of persuasion
He had a style of requesting in a gentle manner

Funny Will, but you have described a Pastor I know absolutely to the ‘T’! Your descriptions are vivid and I knew this person right a way- the image flooded my mind! This has prompted a smile and wonderful memory for me. Well written, wonderful descriptions!
Well done!

Laurie

I remember as a kid going to church and the vicar had one of those loud booming voices.

Bloody terrified me!

What an honour to the guy your describing to be nicknamed as such.

Made me think about the meek inheriting the earth.

A very enjoyable heart warming read.

J.
