I am happy as the sunlight dances in my eyes,
I am happy as the rain pours over my head,
Through the darkness,
Standing in the light,
All alone,
Cast aside by others,
Who said I was not worth the time.
But wherever and whatever I am;
I am happy.
Some say that’s foolish,
But it’s more foolish to be unhappy,
Than happy yes?
I’m neither as great nor beautiful as a flower,
What I am, a rock its true.
Where I stand I stand,
What I feel I feel,
What I am, I am.
With many ruff edges,
Hard and weather worn.
With feeling all-encompassing,
Whole and yet still incomplete,
I do suffer, but in the end,
I am happy,
When the sunny days are long,
Or when the storms never seem to end,
My surface take much hard,
But I am happy
And unmoved.
I say this not in pride, only truth,

What good are you flower?
Only to look at,
What other service can you provide,
When the storm or sun stay to long,
You wither and fade,
So gentle and soft you must feel,
But that’s it, all there is can be felt in one touch,
You might small so sweet,
But in a few days you will still be dead,
What can your looks, charming, and supple do?
Once you are picked they all die with you.
As for this rock,
I am happy,
And thus will stay.
