A Little Horse
Sandra S. Corona
I'd love to sing to you
but I'm a little horse ...
can't reach the microphone.
I'd tell a joke or two
but I tripped on my shoe ...
cut my hooves on a stone.
I may be long in tooth
but I'm nice. That's the truth.
I give a wild oats ride
but I'm a little horse,
back aches, the ground is hard.
I'd eat out of your hand,
but am sick of plain hay;
I'd rather munch on yard.
Up to my hooves in muck,
I waddle like a duck.
I'd love to laugh with you
but I'm a little horse.
Cold, I can't stop coffin ...
got a frog in my throat
and he's rowing a boat.
Wagon dragging, jaws sagging,
corral me, fence me in ...
'cause I'm a little horse.
