The match is struck and this place is filled
I don't really wanna shut my eyes tonight
I don't wanna know what'll drip into my dreams
And possess my mind and body for the night

But I'm running out of places to hide
And hiding is the hardest part
when it comes to keeping a beating heart

I almost saved myself from falling
until I lost my sense of reason
And gained a fear of burning out
Just like I'm doing now

And it's funny how the old-fashioned pieces
Are what first brought this together
And it's all of the old-fashioned pieces
that have finally broke me down

And the cracks have finally run deep enough
To make me beg for mercy just like the tortured one
Just like a smoking gun you're laughing in my face
While the hole you've placed in me tortures more

Who knew breathing would be the hardest part of all
when it came to keeping this in balance? [comments] => 1 [counter] => 266 [topic] => 13 [informant] => asthenia [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )
