Array ( [sid] => 117428 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Drunken Confessions [time] => 2006-03-31 02:54:06 [hometext] => Was drunk when I wrote this, sittin in a bar listenin to BAD karioke. Still drunk though, so its ok. This is probably gonna suck, like internet drunk dialing, but so what? Blame it on the tequila and enjoy! :) [bodytext] =>

Sitting here with strangers
When I should be with you

Why can't I seem to ever stop
These awful things I do?

Drinking down my worries
Watching others dance

I have to stop and wonder
What happened to my chance?

Showed me what I always wanted
Then took it all away

Standing there ripped wide open
What was I supposed to say?

That inside you hold a beauty
I can see unmarred?

And you are all I covet
If only from afar?

I know your smile like my own
My sweetest, dearest friend

I know your touch in the dark
Rough against soft skin

Through young eyes so ancient
Hiding long dead ages

I look inside at your book
Reading of your pages

Then I stare into the mirror
Compare myself to you

You seem so real and endless
Myself I can see right through

I know that I'm not perfect
That's not it at all

But you could be the one to help me
Catch me when I fall

Wipe my face and make me smile
Then offer me your hand

Hold me up and keep me stong
Please help me to stand

Don't misunderstand me
It's not that I would change

It's just that when I'm with you
I'm simply not the same

I find that I don't need it
The drugs, the pain, my due

In fact when we're alone together
All I need is you

Now I'm telling you, please listen
Hear me and take heed

Every time I think of you
I crack and start to bleed

Still staring at my drink
Mourning our lost romance

That only seemed to happen
In a single glance

So I'm sitting in this bar
And it's tearing me apart

Knowing that you're out there
Bound to break my heart

Finally I'm honest
No longer can I kid

You could never break my heart
You already did

Don't worry I write most of my stuff when I'm P****** and it shows!

You've done a great job of this one and you did it all without puking over your monitor!

I salute you!

J.

This poem rung too true for me...
Especially at the moment the way I feel.

I really enjoyed it, and yes like the previous poster I too write mostly when drunk. And I won't edit when I'm sober cause I'm too strict!!!

Thanks!
MiE

Calling this a poem would be an insult. So i'll cut right 2 the chase.

" Masterpeice "

You wouldn't beleive how much i can relate2 this poem. and i love the simplicity of your style and how you put it across and yet capture the thruth of your emotions, as though they were guiding your hand. You are a most excellant writter. *****
