Let them fall down our face
they will drown out our demons
they will wash our hands clean.

Let them brighten our darkness,
bring shine to our bruises
Let them speak of the words
that were muffled by fear.

May our pain expose the truth
of these black and blue flowers
like rain, these tears make us
stead-fast through showers.

The fact is, we are hated
with all honesty stated
because we are beaten, turned black and blue
we are beautiful flowers of a different hue.

We are lovely dreamers
We are beautiful screamers
our tears give us courage
and bring light to the darkness.

May we stop the viscious cycle
of hushed despair and depression
May their efforts to hide us
become null and void.

May each teardrop be a voice
may each scream become louder
may our black and blue petals
become symbols of truth.

May the world see the beauty
of the tears that we cry
Let them hear of our dreams
Let them know we exist

Because we are beaten, turned black and blue
we are beautiful flowers of a different hue.....

note to all the beautiful black and blue flowers: let us stand up and say no more...we are beautiful ..our tears make us stronger...they make our eyes glisten, and they are our weapons of truth....

This is gorgeous.

The amount of feeling in this is wonderful, and the teo lines that you used in your aurthors note are the two that I find I love the most. Fabulous sentiments.

This really made me smile, I love the hope in this, and the way the bad things are seen so good.

Wonderful write.

*hugs*

Your poem speaks of hope and courage. The great thing about poetry is that one can interpret the poem anyway they want to.
You have done an excellent job with this. Beautifully penned and delivered.

Because we are beaten, turned black and blue
we are beautiful flowers of a different hue.....

Nobody should ever put up with abuse. May ur tears be that of joy and not pain.
*big heartfelt hugs*

..subtle hints of Robert Frost and Emily Dickenson..
brought forth with a new age-style and with a vital message as well:

"Feel good about who you are"

great work..

Wow this is amazing. It is so touching. Yes you are a strong person to stand up. No woman deserves to be black and blue. Good way to take a stand:)

I am so blessed to be reading your works today. I have goosebumps up and down my spine. I grow in courage and strength as I read your words. You have an inner sharing that will strengthen so many who may have believed that silence was the way to end abuse of any kind. The voice of your words will travel well into the hearts of many and help them stand tall. Bless you wise one and write until you weep as you must as this empties from your precious heart.
