Array ( [sid] => 117355 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => THE TRUE MEANING OF FAITH [time] => 2006-03-30 03:45:11 [hometext] => i wrote this after my grandma died, she was terrified of death, but this is something i imagined that could have happened- my mother watched her die and said she struggled intensly-this is my first poem i ever wrote- [bodytext] => Have you ever wondered the meaning of faith?
I was in bed feeling all-alone
In a strange place longing for my earthly home
I thought if I believed strong enough
I’d live even if the battle would be tough
With all my might,
I began my fight
But the harder I fought
The weaker I got
I was told
I must let go of my strong hold
So in the darkness of the night
I prayed with all my might
As I struggled for breath
Realizing I was facing death
Questioning should I fight?
Or do I give up my might?
Then the lord replied awe, my dear
Finally you will hear!
For the lord sayeth
The true meaning of faith
Is to do my will!
I know your looking at the hill
You say it’s too high to climb
. But let go of your breath
For the end is not death
Fear not nor be dismayed
Let Christ be your aid
Though his call may seem rough
It is not tough
For your reward will be with God in heaven
So fear not my friend,
For your new assignment will be
coming home to me.

Tonight is the eve of my mum and dads wedding anniversary, we lost my dad after many years of suffering last october. tonight me and mum were talking of the meaning of life and death, she had so many unasnswered questions, i tried to explain what i thought happened to him on THAT night, i believe his mum came for him and lead him from the hospital ward towards god, me and my dad were firm believers yet now i have questionned my faith, this write gave me comfort thankyou.
